R-1 (ČKD AH-IV) — WWII Romanian Tankette | 1/32 (54mm)–1/56 (28mm) Scale Model

This is a 1/32 scale model of the R-1, the Romanian version of the ČKD AH-IV tankette used in WWII. Perfect for army men.

Romania signed a contract with Czechoslovakia's ČKD for 36 AH-IV-R tankettes in August 1936 and formally accepted them in 1938 as the R-1. With a two-man crew and two 7.92mm machine guns, they served with Romanian cavalry units on the Eastern Front from Operation Barbarossa in 1941, through the 1942 summer offensive and the fighting around Stalingrad, and a handful reached the front again in Czechoslovakia in 1945.

For larger army men like BMC Toys, CTS, TSSD, Conte, Plastic Platoon, Mars, etc it is recommended to size up 10% to the true 1/32 scale. For smaller classic toy soldiers like Marx, Tim-Mee, old Airfix, Matchbox, etc, we recommend the 1/35 or even 1/38 if you wish to match the scale of some CTS vehicles. For 28mm tabletop wargaming, choose the 1/56 Kit, which ships unassembled and needs glue (not included).
